HOW TO TEACH AND REWIRE YOUR BRAIN TO ENJOY DOING HARD THINGS
April 12 2025 – Delikate Rayne
Have you ever heard of rewiring and training your brain to do something or are you struggling to stay motivated when things get tough? Our brains are wired to seek comfort and avoid difficulty, but the good news is you can reprogram your mind to embrace challenges. By shifting your mindset, building resilience, and creating positive associations with effort, you can train yourself to not just tolerate hard things, but actually enjoy them. Here’s how to rewire your brain for growth, persistence, and success.
Rewire your reward system: Your brain wants easy dopamine like scrolling etc. Start adding rewards to your daily routine like when you want to scroll, you have to exercise first.
Embrace challenges: Try to seek out activities that push your limits, whether it's learning a new skill, tackling a difficult project, or pushing yourself physically.
Train your discomfort: Doing hard things are easier when you expose yourself to them regularly, such as taking more cold showers and sitting in silence.
The one more rule: When you feel like stopping, try this rule and do one more rep, one more page. A tiny push can encourage your brain to embrace effort instead of avoiding it.
