January 29 2024 – Delikate Rayne

Restore. Repair. Rejuvenate. You've seen these verbs on hair products like Shampoo and conditioner, but what do they really mean? Are you unsure of what your hair really needs? You're not alone. Here are some signs that you've been blessed with healthy hair:

TEXTURE

If your hair doesn't split, frizz, or tangle this means your locks have managed to maintain smooth texture. This would be your hair at its optimal appearance and health meaning that your hair shouldn't feel dry, or weak.

ELASTICITY

Take a strand of your hair, pull it slightly and watch it bounce back. If it does this successfully you have good elasticity. Brittle, limp hair will not follow these physics. Chemical damage, coloring and straightening you hair can cause low elasticity. Using special conditioners can repair damage from lack of moisture and lack of protein.

SHINY HAIR

Dull hair is usually a sign that the hair cuticles aren't lying flat, allowing light to reflect off of the hair. Conditioners and oils can help heal damaged hair and give you that shiny healthy glow.

DETANGLING

Hair that detangles easily is a gift. No one wants the breakage that comes with running a brush or a comb through tangles hair. Dry hair and a lack of moisture can cause pose a variety of issues for hair health. A pre shampoo treatment or a leave in conditioner can alleviate this issue.

SHEDDING

Ideally you want to achieve the minimum amount of breakage. If you can go to bed and wake up with little to no hairs on your pillow that is a good sign. Hair fallout is natural but an excessive amount of shedding is not.

Having healthy hair is not impossible. If you want to elevate your hair in an ethical way you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on hair care products when you can make your own with items you probably already have in your kitchen. Here is a vegan DIY hair mask that will rejuvenate your hair:
