HOW TO PRACTICE GRATITUDE DAILY

December 20 2023 – Delikate Rayne

Practicing gratitude has been known to offer many health and wellness benefits like improving your mood, sleep, and immunity. It can also decrease depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and risk of disease. But how do you practice gratitude? Here are some simple ways of practicing gratitude that you can incorporate into your daily routine.
A common way to practice gratitude daily is by reflecting on at least 3 things that you are thankful for. There are many different ways that you can do this practice, and you can get creative with it! You can reflect through journaling or meditating. You could also create and decorate a gratitude jar or box where you write things you are grateful for throughout the day.

Another way to practice gratitude is by sharing gratitude with others. Every day tell someone that you are grateful for them. It can be anyone. You can share your gratitude through text, phone call, letter, or you can tell them in person. This practice is especially impactful because it boosts happiness for you and for the person you are thanking.

A simple practice of expressing gratitude is by starting a gratitude photo album. In your photos app, create a photo album where daily you will add a photo of something you are grateful for. Add photos that you’ve taken such as photos of your family and friends, or add screenshots of things that are meaningful to you.

Our final way to practice gratitude daily is with affirmations. Repeat gratitude affirmations for at least 3-5 minutes daily and they will become ingrained in your brain. These thoughts of gratitude will become second nature. Some examples of gratitude affirmations that you can start with are “I am happy and grateful for everything I have and receive daily,” and “I wake up every day grateful for the beauty I see in nature that surrounds me.”

Take these practices and incorporate them into your daily routine to increase your gratitude!
